1. Pôvod a história plemena: Eriskay pony je jedným z najstarších pôvodných plemien pony na britských ostrovoch. Vznikol izolovanou selekciou na Eriskay a okolí v Outer Hebrides (Západné Hébridy) v severozápadnom Škótsku, kde boli kone potrebné pre každodenné úlohy poľnohospodárov (crofting), ako prenášanie rašeliny, rias na hnoj, prevážanie nákladu a detí.
