The pellets retain their shape and do not fall apart. FloraBase Pro is rich in nutrients, which the open structure provides for healthy roots. FloraBase Pro lowers and stabilizes the pH value to 6. At pH 6, sufficient CO2 is available for healthy plant growth. The CO2 level in the water is very important for optimal plant growth.
You can see in the table that the CO2 absorption at pH 6 is approximately 80%. When the pH value is higher, the absorption decreases significantly. Setting up a new aquarium is much easier when using FloraBase Pro. When the pH is lower than 7, the ammonia excreted by the fish is formed as ammonium instead of toxic ammonia. You can make your base exclusively with FloraBase Pro, in which case it is not necessary to fill it with FloraBase gravel. Or use NutriBase and cover it with a layer of FloraBase Pro to provide the plants with the maximum amount of nutrients. For example, shrimp and discus prefer a pH value of around 6.
