The Boulonnais is one of the largest and oldest breeds of heavy horses, originating from France, specifically the Boulogne-sur-Mer region. This imposing horse is known for its muscular build, intelligence and adaptability, making it ideal for farm work, heavy work and riding. Originally used for agricultural work and pulling heavy loads, it is now also valued for its excellent qualities in sports and recreational riding.
