Caspian horse

The Caspian horse is a rare and very ancient breed of horse from the Caspian Sea region of northern Iran, which is considered one of the oldest domesticated breeds in the world. Fossil finds show small horses similar to the Caspian as early as 3000 BC, making them an important genetic part of the history of horses. Today, the breed is critically endangered and is kept in very small numbers throughout the world.
