The polluted water from the pond is directed into the drum, and must pass through the filter membrane.
The water leaves the filter and is redirected to the biological filtration.
As the polluted water passes through the drum, particles are deposited and clog the small holes in the membrane.
The passage of water is slowed down, which causes the difference in level between downstream and upstream of the screen to be different.
At this point, the detection system starts the cleaning cycle. At this point, the drum rotates very slowly and the nozzles arranged on the upper part (outside of the drum) create streams of water on the filter membrane: under the pressure of the water, even the smallest impurities are removed from the filter membrane.
These impurities are discharged into the gutter and into the sewer.
