Gekon hrubochvostý (Hemitheconyx caudicinctus), často nazývaný African Fat-Tailed Gecko, je populárny terarijný plaz pochádzajúci z západnej Afriky (napr. Senegal, Ghana, Togo, Nigéria). Je to nočný, pokojný a relatívne nenáročný gecko, ideálny ako miláčik pre mnohých chovateľov. Má charakteristický hubovitý, mohutný chvost, v ktorom si ukladá tukové zásoby – odtiaľ pochádza jeho názov.
